Description
The Bayrische Landespolizei ("Bavarian State Police") opened a new "Drone Competence and Counter‑Drone Centre" (DKAZ) in Erding (Bavaria) at the beginning of May 2026. Around 40 jobs will be created immediately, with a total of up to 100 new positions planned at the final stage of development.
The project brings together all key areas of expertise at one location. The site is located on the former airbase area and serves as a foundation for the further development of air defence technologies. The centre supports digital progress by promoting modern drone and counter‑drone systems, thereby strengthening Germany’s technological competitiveness.
