European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Liebherr International, a Swiss industrial manufacturing group, plans to open a production facility in Rostock, creating up to 150 new jobs.
Liebherr will use a former Nordex hall in Rostock, where wind turbines were produced in the past, to manufacture components for infantry fighting vehicles. The newly established subsidiary Liebherr Defence Germany plans to move its headquarters to Rostock.
The expansion reflects Liebherr’s strategic entry into the defence sector. The project’s timeline will be defined as the production lines become operational, with full capacity expected once commissioning completes.
Liebherr has been manufacturing industrial equipment for over 75 years and employs around 60,000 people worldwide.
