Description

Upway, a French online retailer specializing in refurbished e-bikes, opened its third German site in Illingen at the end of April 2026. The new facility is expected to create up to 185 jobs, increasing the workforce from the current 15 employees to approximately 200. The expansion will take place in stages, with the first 35 positions to be filled by June 2026, followed by a further 150 to 170 jobs in the subsequent phase. By the end of 2030, the company seeks to create a total of seven sites employing around 1,000 staff.

The expansion reflects the company’s commitment to the green transition, as the refurbishment of used e-bikes reduces resource consumption and climate impact. Upway’s investment of EUR15 million underscores its strategy to strengthen the European market for sustainable mobility.

Upway was founded in 2021.
