Description
Rofu Kinderland, a German toy retailer, announced the to cut between 340 and 505 permanent jobs as part of a rescue plan that will retain 1,120 positions. The cuts affect the company’s headquarters, 27 closed branches, and an external warehouse, all located in Germany. The closures are scheduled to finish by July 2026.
The restructuring was prompted by insolvency and the need to stabilise operations. At the closing branches, 330 employees are affected out of which, however, the majority are part-time and temporary workers. Furthermore, 280 will be directly dismissed at the headquarters, and another 60 in a warehouse.
Rofu filed for insolvency in January 2026, after which an investor has been found.
