European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Dreamland, a Belgian toy retailer, announced the closure of its logistics unit in Beersel, affecting 65 jobs. The company, owned by ToyChamp, will relocate logistics operations to Bilzen. For the non-logistical administrative functions at the same site in Beersel, Dreamland is looking for a new location in the area, without job losses. Dreamland points to the strong competition in the sector, especially from online stores.
For the unions, the announcement does not come out of the blue.
