European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Bluemooov, a French company founded in 2018, specializes in designing cargo tricycles. It initially opted for production in Tunisia due to complexities in launching production in France. In 2022 it decided to relocate the production in Pays de la Loire to reduce its carbon footprint. The plan involves collaboration with subcontractors in Mayenne, Maine-et-Loire, and Sarthe to assemble bicycles at 90%. While certain components like brake pedals and handle grips are no longer manufactured in France, the company domestically designs a motor kit for the bicycles. The assembly project was expected to commence in the second quarter of 2023 on a site in Mayenne, with the goal of delivering 300 to 500 bicycles in the first year, scaling to 1,000 units by 2024. The relocation aims to balance higher labor costs with transportation cost savings.
