Ercé Médical, based in the West Industrial Zone in Veyziat, is a French manufacturer of medical products. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, in 2022 the company shifted from importing Covid-19 test cassettes from China to producing them locally. Also, in collaboration with a French design firm, it developed an improved version of a frontal thermometer, enhancing its design and functionality. The company invested a total of 890,000 euros in both projects. This reshoring initiative was supported by the government's France Relance plan and the state’s financial assistance was equal to 533,962 euros. The company anticipates the creation of six new jobs and expects to achieve an annual production volume of 40,000 to 50,000 thermometers contributing to local economic growth and job creation.
