Description
Gem Optics is a small protective glasses producer in Bellignat (Ain) with 8 employees. In 2020 it decided to relocate in France its production from China. The company, which assembles prescription glasses and protective masks, faced challenges during the Covid crisis when an order for 20,000 glasses got stuck in China for four weeks. It aims is to establish a system of grouped orders. The decision to relocate is driven by the desire to overcome logistical challenges and uncertainties posed by overseas production, especially during crises like the pandemic.
