Description
QTS provides wire mesh-based material for the logistics industry. QTS will backshore its production from China to the UK through a 50,000 sq. ft. site in Nottinghamshire (East Midlands) in August 2015. The company suggests that 11 jobs could be created, and that this number could increase to 26 during the next year as a result of the reshoring. Managing director Shaun Ingram said: "The rise of online shopping and the need to provide flexibility for warehouses and distribution centres had driven significant demand for our products," "Traditionally, we'd imported around 95 per cent of our product in complete form from China, yet had noticed a desire from our customers to decrease the turnaround time for installations of solutions. "The decision was taken to create our own manufacturing plant in the East Midlands, starting first with assembly and then followed by full scale production for our solutions." QTS was supported by Business Growth Service’s Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) and ReshoreUK. Ingram also revealed the company is in talks with the Regional Growth Fund (RGF) to help fund the move.
