European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Volvo Bil i Göteborg, a Swedish subsidiary of Volvo Cars, announced the closure of its operations in Göteborg, resulting in the loss of 200 jobs. The plant’s shutdown is part of a strategy aimed at strengthening competitiveness and long-term profitability. The layoffs were commenced on 24 November 2025, with negotiations with trade union representatives taking place.
