Description
Le Printemps, a French luxury department-store chain announced the net loss of 138 jobs across its French sites and headquarter. The company is cutting 229 jobs, modifying 17 positions, and creating 91 jobs. The internal restructuring also includes the closure of its Rennes store.
The restructuring was driven by sustained sales slowdown, reduced purchasing power, and heightened competition from fast-fashion and second-hand markets.
In 2020, the company had already closed several stores. Similarly, Le Printemps Brest had been put under liquidation twice in 2025, and 2026.
The group has a workforce in France of about 3,000.
