Description
Claire’s Accessories, a US-founded retail chain specialising in fashion jewellery and accessories, announced extensive store closures in Ireland, putting over 100 jobs at risk.
Dozens of staff have already been told their jobs are gone as of mid-March 2026, following the closure of several stores, including outlets at Dublin’s Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre, Blanchardstown, Liffey Valley, Dundrum, Waterford and Athlone. Staff were informed that the final day of trading at some stores was 14 March 2026 and that they would be laid off without pay, with formal redundancy notices only due in early April.
The US owned retailer is winding down its UK and Irish operations after rescue talks failed following bankruptcy, with closures affecting locations across the country. The retail chain has struggled with falling sales, debt, and declining footfall. The company currently has 14 stores across Ireland.
