Description
Falcon Defence, part of the Falcon Group, announced the launch of an integrated production platform for energetic materials and artillery ammunition in the defence manufacturing sector. The investment will generate between 100 and 150 direct jobs in production facilities in Romania, linked to the reactivation and modernisation of an existing industrial platform. The first phase of the project is expected to support deliveries scheduled for 2026, with investment already approved in 2025.
The expansion is driven by the sharp increase in European demand for ammunition and energetic materials following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, as well as EU efforts to strengthen defence industrial capacity and reduce reliance on external suppliers. The project is aligned with strategic objectives linked to security, resilience and industrial autonomy, and reflects broader defence spending increases across EU Member States.
Falcon Defence operates within an international production network supplying artillery ammunition and energetic materials, including 155 mm projectiles compliant with NATO standards. An estimated investment of around EUR 50 million in the first phase is planned.
