European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The vehicle lighting manufacturer Ultinon Motion Germany GmbH filed for insolvency on 9 February 2026, which puts around 500 jobs in Aachen at risk.
The company’s approximately 500 employees receive insolvency payments and business operations are likely to continue until April 2026. If the employees can keep their jobs after April depends on finding an investor.
The company was originally part of Philips and was known as Lumileds. Later, it was sold and became part of the US company First Brands. After this takeover, the German branch was renamed Ultinon Motion Germany.
