Description

Fincantieri, an Italian shipbuilding group, announced a recruiting initiative in Friuli Venezia Giulia to support its increased workload, involving job creation at its shipbuilding operations in the region.

The recruitment initiative is driven by a sharp increase in the group’s order book and workload over the previous twelve months. The expansion aims to ensure sufficient skilled labour to manage and support ongoing and new shipbuilding projects, particularly at the Monfalcone shipyard, and reflects broader growth in demand within the shipbuilding sector rather than restructuring pressures.

The profiles sought include skilled labourers, production and design engineers, supervisory staff, and roles in order management, procurement and IT.

The initiative is organised in collaboration with public authorities, including the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Municipality of Monfalcone. Regional employment services are involved in pre-selecting candidates, while local and regional representatives publicly supported the initiative, highlighting cooperation between institutions, the company and trade union parties within the framework of the local Employment Pact.

Fincantieri is a long-established Italian multinational shipbuilding group with headquarters in Trieste. It operates multiple shipyards and offices in Italy and abroad and employs more than 21,000 people worldwide, around half of whom are based in Italy.
