Description
Aerospace and defence group EADS is to create 9,000 jobs in 2012 due to strong growth and increase in orders in the previous year. Some 4,000 will be temporary positions. Roughly 5,500 jobs will be long-term contracts, with half of them in France.
Around 30% of the recruited workforce will consist of young graduates and separately from these figures, the group also plans to take on around 5,000 interns across its various business areas.
The expansion is driven by sustained business needs and growth prospects in the aerospace and defence sectors. EADS reported continued demand across its civil and military activities and highlighted the need to strengthen its engineering, production and support functions. The recruitment reflects ongoing production increases, notably linked to aircraft programmes such as the A350 XWB, and more broadly the group’s strategy to support innovation, industrial capacity and long-term competitiveness.
EADS employs more than 100,000 people worldwide and operates through four main divisions: Airbus, Eurocopter, Astrium and Cassidian.
