Description
The Ingka Group has announced a reduction of 625 jobs in Sweden. The announcement is part of a global reorganisation of the group's operations affecting a total of 800 job positions globally.
According to the CEO of Ingka Group, the reorganisation will improve the Group's flexibility in the face of future crises and market changes.
Among other companies, the Ingka Group comprises the Swedish furniture manufacturer and retailer IKEA. Of the total job losses, 480 are employees at the Group's Swedish global services. An additional 145 work at IKEA Sweden at the company headquarters in Helsingborg, at the warehouse in Torsvik, and with corporate sales around the country.
At the same time, Ingka Group is planning to hire 500 people in Europe and North America to newly opened stores. These new hires are not planned to be covered by those now being laid off.
