Description

Verkor, a French battery manufacturer, is recruiting 500 new employees to its new plant in Dunkirk. This recruitment is part of an expansion plan set to be completed by 2030. The gigafactory in Dunkirk has an initial annual capacity of 16 GWh, which will increase to 50 GWh by 2030. Verkor’s main client is Renault.

Verkor is one of four companies established in the “Battery Valley” (Vallée de la Batterie) in France. This initiative, launched in 2023, aims to create around 3,000 direct jobs in the region. The French government has made a significant financial contribution to the project, investing €1.5 billion out of a total of €5.2 billion.

The project aims to strengthen the local industrial base while supporting the transition to electric vehicles.
