Description
AESC, a Japanese electric battery manufacturer, has announced the creation of 350 new jobs in maintenance, quality control, supply chain and production. The aim is to have 1,000 employees by the end of 2025. The company is expanding its operations in the Hauts-de-France region, where it is developing a gigafactory with the capacity to produce up to 200,000 batteries per year. AESC’s main client is Renault.
AESC is one of four companies established in the “Battery Valley” (Vallée de la Batterie) in France. This initiative, launched in 2023, aims to create around 3,000 direct jobs in the region. The French government has made significant financial contributions to the project, investing €1.5 billion out of a total €5.2 billion investment.
The project aims to strengthen the local industrial base while supporting the transition to electric vehicles.
