Description
Stef Transport, a French firm specialised in transportation and logistics of agri-food products, has announced 28 redundancies linked to the planned closure of its Golbey site and 220 positions at its Aulnay-sous-Bois facility.
Reactions from trade unions have been felt throughout France. In Golbey, located in the Vosges region, employees have been informed that they must either accept relocation to the Velaines site (35 km away) or face dismissal.
According to worker representatives, this relocation option offers limited security, as the Velaines site itself is expected to close by 2030 as part of a future reorganisation.
Trade union representatives have criticised the situation as a “disguised social plan”, pointing to the fact that the Golbey site employs fewer than 50 workers, thereby excluding employees from the French legal protections associated with a formal redundancy plan (PSE).
Due to these conditions, an inter-union alliance comprising the CFDT, CGT, CFTC and FO was formed to demand better working conditions for workers impacted by the job cuts.
This comes after the company announced the creation of 2,800 jobs in France throughout France: Stef Transoirt 2026 - FR.
