Description
Leonardo S.p.A., the Italian aerospace, defence and security group, has announced the creation of 4,600 new jobs by 2026, with a total of 28,000 positions to be filled by 2030. These roles will be in engineering, production, digital and corporate units, and will be located across several Italian regions, including Lazio, Lombardy, Campania, Piedmont, Tuscany and Liguria.
This restructuring forms part of the updated 2026–2030 Industrial Plan and is intended to reinforce the company’s role in global security. This will be achieved through an expansion of production capacity and investments in digitalisation, AI, cybersecurity and high-tech multidomain solutions. The plan also involves the recruitment of predominantly STEM professionals (70%) and young people under the age of 30 (55%).
There are currently already open over 900 job vacancies across Italy, including roles for engineers, software developers, cyber specialists, production technicians and administrators.
