Description
Serconf, a Romanian garment company, has announced that it will cut 163 jobs throughout a collective dismissal programme at its production facility Botoșani, Romania.
The company has notified the County Agency for Employment (AJOFM) regarding the layoffs. The company is also preparing to shut down its operations at the site.
The closure coincides with layoffs at other local firms, such as the Artsana factory (which produced for Chicco) Artsana Romania 2024-RO, leaving hundreds of textile workers in the region seeking new employment.
Founded after 1989 and owned by the heirs of the late businessman Joseph Seroussi, Serconf was a major exporter and one of the largest garment companies in Romania, primarily manufacturing high-quality apparel for German brands like Brax.
