Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Nothegger Transport Logistik, an Austrian transport company headquartered in St. Ulrich am Pillersee, announced the insolvency of its operations affecting approximately 300 employees across its logistics and transport units in Tyrol.
The company filed for bankruptcy following mounting debts of roughly €15 million, including unpaid social security contributions and tax liabilities, which made continuation of normal operations financially unfeasible.
The insolvency process began with the official opening of the court-supervised proceedings at the Landesgericht Innsbruck.
The Tiroler Arbeiterkammer has pledged support to safeguard employee rights, while management indicates an intention to continue operations where feasible.
