The Austrian subsidiary of the international home improvement retail chain Bauhaus, announced the creation of approximately 120 jobs with the opening of a new DIY retail store in Vienna-Ottakring, Austria.
The new store represents an investment of around €50 million and occupies a three-story building with roughly 17,000 square metres of retail space. The employment creation is linked to the commissioning and operation of the new retail facility as part of the company’s continued expansion in the Austrian market.
Bauhaus operates a network of home improvement stores across Europe and currently runs 22 stores in Austria, including seven in Vienna. The Austrian service centre, located in Wels, coordinates functions such as procurement, marketing, e-commerce and accounting. The company employs around 1,800 people in Austria, including approximately 100 apprentices.
