Description
BrewDog, the Scottish craft beer company, has announced that it will cut at least 484 positions worldwide.
On 2 March 2026, the company entered administration, resulting in the closure of 38 bars and immediate layoffs across the United Kingdom. The company’s UK brewing operations and 11 pubs were acquired by the US-based beverage and cannabis company Tilray Brands. The acquisition preserved 733 jobs across Ireland and the United Kingdom.
BrewDog’s 18 franchise bars in the United Kingdom and internationally continue to operate normally as they are separate legal entities. Negotiations regarding BrewDog’s assets in the United States and Australia are ongoing between Tilray and the administrators. BrewDog’s German arm, including its Berlin brewery and bar, was not part of the sale and will be liquidated. For Germany, no specific number of jobs to be cut is available as of now.
The administration follows five consecutive years of losses totaling nearly £150 million.
