Alstom, a French railway manufacturing company, has announced the transfer of its industrial site in Görlitz, Germany, to the defence company KNDS Deutschland.
The restructuring will affect approximately 700 employees, with up to 575 expected to retain positions between the two companies as the site transitions from producing railway carriages to defence components. KNDS will take over between 425 and 475 employees KNDS 2025-DE , while 100 workers will be offered roles at other Alstom sites. Alstom company has committed to finding socially responsible solutions for about 125 employees not covered by the transfer.
