Description
Rompetrol, a Kazakh company specialised in oil refining, petrochemicals, retail activities and services in the upstream area, announced its intention to expand the Romanian network with 13 new fuel stations. The first six are currently in various stages of construction and are scheduled to open in June and July 2026.
The six oil stations will create a total of over 130 new jobs. Two stations are set to open at Sanpaul (Mures County), very close to the motorway (A3), at Brasov (Brasov County) city bypass and two stations are set to open at Ipotesti and at Scheia (Suceava County). At the same time, the construction has been initiated for seven more Rompetrol stations in locations across the country: Bucharest Ring Road, Ovidiu (Constanta County), Iasi, Bacau, Timisoara, as well as two stations on the entry/exit route to the Republic of Moldova, via the Albita Customs. When the construction will be finalized, the new oil stations will generate approximately 130 additional jobs.
Upon completion, the new oil stations will be operated by Rompetrol Downstream, the retail division of the KMG International Group in Romania.
By the end of 2024, the company had a workforce of 449 persons.
