Description
Playmobil, a German toy manufacturer, announced that it will close its Dietenhofen (Bavaria) production plant by the end of June 2026, resulting in 350 job cuts.
The production is to be relocated to other facilities by June 2026. According to Playmobil, the reason for the closure are the rising production costs in Germany.
The details of a socially responsible implementation are still to be negotiated with the works council. The IGBCE union has criticized the decision, saying it will not accept it without resistance.
