Description

Dutch lighting company Signify has announced that it will cut 900 jobs worldwide, including about 150 positions in the Netherlands.

The cuts are part of a new global cost-cutting programme. The workforce reduction is expected to affect a broad range of functions and will be implemented through a combination of natural attrition, leaving vacancies unfilled, and forced redundancies.

Signify aims to reduce costs by around €180 million. The company has already undergone significant reorganisations in recent years. The company focuses on strengthening commercial and operational efficiency, improving cost control, and reviewing the company’s broader strategy and product portfolio.

Signify, previously Philips Lighting, is present in over 70 countries. At the end of 2025, it employed approximately 26,600 worldwide.

Previous global restructuring events of Signify have been recorded in the ERM events database: Signify 2024-WO (500 job cuts); Signify 2021-WO (700 job cuts).
