The automotive supplier Plastic Manufacturing has announced plans to cut 160 jobs at their site in Diepersdorf (part of Leinburg in Bavaria).
The job reductions form part of a restructuring plan introduced after the company filed for insolvency in 2025. The cuts primarily affect the company’s largest site in Diepersdorf, where 120 employees will be dismissed in January 2026, and a further 40 fixed-term contracts will not be renewed. The company has been facing declining demand across Europe, coupled with rising material and energy costs. Management and the works council have agreed on a social plan. The management emphasised that the job cuts are essential to securing the company’s future.
The company manufactures radiator grilles, mirror caps, and steering wheel covers made of plastic, supplying several well-known automotive manufacturers. In addition to the Diepersdorf operation, the company’s sites in Oberlungwitz and Lüdenscheid have also filed for insolvency and started a restructuring program, for which no exact figures are known. Plastic Manufacturing employs a total of 1,258 people.
