The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Approximately 300 jobs are to be cut in Ireland by Amazon as a result of a company-wide global restructuring and downsizing.
In total Amazon is to cut 16,000 jobs worldwide. The redundancy plan targets corporate employees in an effort to streamline the organisaiton.
Currently Amazon employs nearly 6,500 people in Ireland at sites in Cork, Dublin, and Drogheda. Most of the jobs are corporate roles.
Multiple reports indicate that the latest global redundancies will effect between 300 and 325 jobs in Ireland.
