Lidl, the German supermarket chain, has announced 12 new openings in February across seven Spanish regions, representing an investment of €87 million and generating around 270 permanent jobs.
Specifically, and at regional level, Lidl has announced a €19.7 million investment to strengthen its presence in the Valencian Community, with the opening of two new stores in Torrevieja (Alicante) and Sagunto (Valencia) and the refurbishment of its Aldaia (Valencia) branch. The expansion, which will create 44 new jobs, brings the German supermarket chain’s regional network to 84 stores.
According to a PwC report, Lidl contributed €981 million to the Valencian region’s GDP last year (approximately 0.69% of the total, underlining its economic impact and continued commitment to regional development.
The company has recently experienced two business expansion processes in 2025Lidl 2025-ES and Lidl 2025-ES, creating a total of 400 and 115 new jobs, respectively
