Description
The Swedish manufacturer of seasoning products, Santa Maria, is relocating all of its seasoning production to Estonia, which would lead to all 105 employees at the current factory in Mölndal losing their jobs.
Santa Maria is owned by the company Paulig, which explains that rising production costs have had negative consequences on the company's profitability. A merger of the company's spice factories would increase efficiency in handling the increased costs and strengthen competitiveness in the long term, a Paulig representative states.
Santa Maria in Mölndal currently employs 86 factory workers and 19 office employees. Negotiations with the trade unions are ongoing, and the possible relocation is expected to be realised by the summer of 2027.
The parent company, Paulig, has roughly 490 employees in Sweden.
