European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Suzuki Garphyttan, a Swedish industrial manufacturer, announced 68 job cuts among industrial workers at its production facility in Garphyttan, Sweden.
The company is restructuring due to a weakened European market, which has led to declining demand and reduced production volumes. The downturn is expected to continue in the short term, although the company anticipates eventual market recovery. Labour unions were involved in negotiations prior to the announcement of layoffs, and further collaboration between management and unions will continue over the coming months.
The Garphyttan employs 329 employees.
