Description
Rome’s public transport company, ATAC, plans to hire 758 workers in 2026, mainly through public recruitment procedures. This is part of the company’s Industrial Plan 2025–2027 and the 2026 Annual Management Plan, which was approved by the Rome City Council.
Of the total new hires only 177 will be additional positions.
The breakdown of the planned hires is as follows: 634 surface transport drivers; 67 technical and administrative specialists; 29 managerial and coordination roles; and 28 operational workers for metro lines, responsible for maintenance, safety, and emergency management.
Hiring will largely rely on flexible employment contracts, particularly for drivers and metro line operators.
Alongside new recruitment, ATAC plans to stabilise 288 fixed-term employees hired in 2024, primarily drivers.
