Description
Ebro, a Spanish-Chinese car manufacturer, will hire 300 new employees in the first quarter of 2026. Of the 300 planned recruits, 50 workers have already joined in December to begin training. Initially, new hires will be employed under six-month agency contracts, followed by another six months on temporary contracts directly with Ebro, before being made permanent employees.
The company is planning to launch its new M1 assembly line, which will allow for the complete manufacturing of vehicles rather than the partial assembly of pre-built units imported from China. The plant prepares to start producing pre-series models in March or April, with full series production beginning after Easter and reaching a target output of 20 vehicles per hour. The first vehicles to be produced on the M1 line will be the Ebro S400, followed shortly by the S700, both based on Chery’s Tiggo platform. Meanwhile, the highly anticipated Omoda 5 model is not expected to reach the Barcelona plant until September or October 2026.
