Description

Stellantis, a global automotive manufacturer operating in the passenger car production sector, will cut 740 jobs at its plant in Tychy following the decision to eliminate the third production shift from March 2026.

The restructuring is driven by low demand for B-segment SUVs, high energy costs, and market uncertainty, and will affect mainly temporary workers, agency staff, and some permanent employees, with production of Jeep Avenger, Fiat 600, and Alfa Romeo Junior continuing on two shifts.

Job reductions will be carried out through a Programme of Voluntary Departures (around 440 people) and collective redundancies (around 320 people), with the process to be completed by 30 April 2026.

Trade unions, including Solidarność and Metalowcy, are in negotiations with management, and formal consultations started in January 2026.

Stellantis is one of the largest automotive groups in the world, created in 2021 from the merger of PSA Group and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Stellantis already underwent the internal restructuing in 2024, see: Stellantis 2024 - PL
