European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The German fashion e-commerce company Zalando plans to close its logistics centre in Erfurt (Thuringia) at the end of September 2026. The closure will affect 2,700 employees.
In 2025, Zalando acquired the fashion retailer About You and is now reorganising its logistics network following the takeover.
Discussions with the works council regarding a balance of interests and a social plan have already begun. According to the company, some employees will have the opportunity to transfer to other locations, such as Gießen, where a new logistics site is currently being established.
Zalando employs 15,000 people worldwide.
