Description

The Danish Tax Agency (Danish: "Skattestyrelsen") is dismissing 250 employees across Denmark as part of a nationwide reduction. Staff nationwide will be affected in locations such as Svendborg, Ringe and Odense.

The dismissals are linked to the government’s administrative savings programme, affecting administrations across the country. Previously, the Danish Tax Agency saw an increase in staff, given plans by the government to strengthen tax controls. The reduction follows a political agreement presented before the summer and forms part of a broader effort to streamline operations within the Ministry of Taxation (Danish: Skatteministeriet) that the agency falls under. In total, the Ministry of Taxation must contribute around DKK 1.1 billion to the savings programme, with about DKK 215 million in 2026.

Currently, a total of 5,100 employees work for the agency.
