Description
Upwork, a US-based company specialising in freelance work and the hiring of independent professionals, will open its first office outside the United States, in Lisbon. The company will create around 100 jobs, with a strong focus on recruiting Portuguese talent. This process will begin shortly and the office is expected to open in the first half of 2026.
The Mayor of Lisbon municipality stated that the company brings added value to the city and represents an opportunity for employment and development for local youth. With this opening, Lisbon will host a total of 17 unicorn companies.
