European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The German engineering and plant manufacturing company Voith Group plans to cut up to 2,500 jobs, primarily in Germany. It is still unclear exactly how many positions in Germany will be affected. The restructuring will take place over next two years.
Voith explains that the reduction is intended to make the company more competitive and future-oriented in the long term, as part of a broader strategic realignment. Germany is particularly affected due to high energy and labour costs, complex regulatory requirements, and an overall high bureaucratic burden.
In the coming weeks, the company will engage in discussions with employee representatives regarding the planned restructuring at Voith.
Voith’s headquarters are located in Heidenheim an der Brenz in Baden-Württemberg. In addition, the company has sites in Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, Saxony-Anhalt, and Saxony. The company employs around 22,000 people worldwide across more than 60 countries. The global restructuring is also documented in the ERM database Voith Group 2025 - WO.
