Description
The Italian company Sogefi Suspensions, specialised in the manufacturing of components for the automotive industry, plans to lay off 130 permanent employees and close its Douai site in 2026.
The company had started to struggle and was no longer producing 1.2 million stabiliser bars for the automotive industry, compared to 4.5 million in 2019. Trade unions denounce unfair competition from abroad in the context of growing automotive markets in Asia and the Americas, as well as a decline in vehicle production in France. The production will be consolidated at other Sogefi sites in France.
