Lieder Automotive, a manufacturer of automotive body parts, has announced plans to invest over €40 million in its new factory in Borja (Zaragoza) and generate 170 new direct jobs, with recruitment starting in August 2026 as production ramps up. The plant will focus on the production of battery cell chassis for Leapmotor’s B10 vehicle, eventually producing 40,000 chassis per year.
The first stage of operations is expected to begin in August 2026, with production intensifying as the factory expands. The plant, which will feature cutting-edge technology including 130 robots, is designed to meet the growing demand for electric vehicle components and will support Leapmotor’s B10 and B05 models, contributing to the electric vehicle supply chain in Europe.
Lieder Automotive is a joint venture between the Spanish Fagor Ederlan Group and the Chinese company Duoli Technology, and is described as a long-term strategic move to strengthen the market presence of both companies, and ensure competitiveness in the global automotive market. Lieder Automotive’s operations will play a vital role in the broader transformation of the automotive industry, aligning with sustainability and electrification goals. Fagor Ederlan will continue to lead the way in providing expertise in aluminum manufacturing and technological innovation, with the goal of positioning the plant as a global hub for electric vehicle production.
