Description
Aerospacelab, a Walloon company active in the design, manufacture and operation of satellites, announced a major business expansion supported by public funding from the Walloon Government. This initiative aims to develop telecommunication payloads entirely designed and produced in Wallonia, strengthening the region’s position in the global satellite market.
Founded in 2018, Aerospacelab specialises in the design, manufacture, and operation of satellites and has already launched 10 satellites from its Louvain-la-Neuve facility. A new megafactory under construction in Charleroi will significantly increase production capacity from 2026.
The company currently employs over 350 people and plans to reach 500 employees by the end of 2026. The regional support is expected to create 14 jobs immediately, maintain 25 existing positions, and generate around 100 new jobs at the Charleroi site in the longer term. Since its inception, Aerospacelab has raised €154 million, including €37.6 million in regional research aid.
