Description
Oracle, the American provider of enterprise software, has announced plans to cut more than 3,000 positions worldwide.
The restructuring will affect multiple regions and business units, including the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure division, Oracle Health, architects and corporate unit. In Romania, the company plans to cut 404 jobs, offering severance packages based on tenure and extended paid notice periods. The layoffs are also implemented at its units across the United States, India, the Philippines, and Canada.
The restructuring is driven by a global efficiency program and a strategic shift toward cloud services, infrastructure, and artificial intelligence technologies.The job reductions target roles in IT and cloud-related functions, including software development, technical support, and consulting.
Oracle employs about 162,000 people worldwide.
