Description
The Austrian vegan fast-food group Swing Kitchen, operating in the food service sector, has entered insolvency proceedings, placing 130 jobs across its seven Austrian outlets at risk. This restructuring affects restaurant staff in all domestic units after the company announced that its planned continuation could not be financed.
The insolvency follows the failure of a previously approved restructuring plan for the parent company, Schillinger Vegan Holding, whose creditors had supported a rescue option in October. Despite negotiations with potential industry investors, the owners were unable to secure the required liquidity, forcing the entire group to file for insolvency. Jobs are expected to be lost gradually as administrators decide on the future of individual locations, while franchise outlets — two in Vienna and one in Switzerland — remain open for now.
Swing Kitchen operated multiple restaurants in Austria and was part of Schillinger Vegan Holding, which reported liabilities of around €15 million.
