Description
Van Deer-Red Bull Sports, an Austrian ski manufacturing company active in the sporting goods sector, announced the opening of its production site and headquarters in Scheffau, Salzburg. The new factory will generate an initial 80 jobs, which will be steadily increased until final employment at the new factory reaches 100. The restructuring involves relocating ski production from the previous facility in Stuhlfelden to the new plant, affecting manufacturing and administrative units at the site.
The move is driven by the company’s strategic expansion and by the strong growth of its ski brand, which has evolved from a small-scale project into a significantly larger operation supported by cooperation with Red Bull. Production volumes for the Scheffau site have not yet been finalised, though estimates suggest up to 30,000 pairs of skis per year.
Local authorities report infrastructure adjustments. Company management has not commented on recent financial losses reported in the firm’s annual accounts.
Van Deer–Red Bull Sports is jointly owned by former ski champion Marcel Hirscher and Red Bull and has undergone earlier restructuring connected to its brand expansion.
