European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Traktionssysteme Austria (TSA), an Austrian manufacturer in the electrical equipment sector, announced the creation of around 100 new jobs at its Wiener Neudorf production site, where the company builds traction motors for rail and road vehicles. This expansion concerns production workers and technical staff linked to a major capacity increase at the plant.
The investment is driven by strong growth in electric mobility, with rising global demand for traction systems for electric buses, lorries and rail vehicles. Construction of a new high-technology stamping centre for electrical steel (“TSA-City”) has begun, with the first project phase scheduled for completion next year and full production expected to start in 2027. The company plans to invest EUR 9.5 million in this new facility and an additional EUR 30 million in related projects over the next five years.
Political representatives, including the federal minister attending the groundbreaking ceremony, expressed strong support for the expansion, emphasising its regional economic significance.
TSA currently employs around 450 workers and is recognised as a global leader in traction motor manufacturing, supplying the European and US markets with rail and road powertrain systems.
