Description
Cabify, a mobility company that operates a ride-hailing platform, has begun rolling out 800 newly authorised VTC (chauffeured transport vehicle) licences in Madrid by early 2026. According to the company, these initial licences will create over 1,500 direct and indirect jobs and generate an estimated €160 million in annual economic impact, encompassing salaries, social security contributions, and VAT revenues.
All newly deployed vehicles will be ECO or fully electric, aligning with sustainability goals. Cabify projects that their introduction will help remove approximately 5,300 private cars from circulation and avoid more than 5,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, freeing up an urban area equivalent to five times Madrid’s Plaza Mayor.
