Description
Eyeo, the German company behind Adblock and Adblock Plus, has announced that it will cut about 120 positions worldwide.
The layoffs will affect employees at the headquarters in Berlin, Germany, as well as staff distributed across 30 countries globally. Beyond the Berlin HQ, the company operates with a remote-friendly or remote–first setup, instead of maintaining local offices in each country. The restructuring programme includes cutting around 40% of its global workforce, primarily affecting support functions. The company maintains profitable operations through its core ad-filtering business while investing in privacy technology development.
Employee feedback cites concerns over communication, limited severance, and the impact on career development, with reports of some staff being dismissed even during earned sabbaticals.
Founded in 2011, Eyeo employs over 300 employees across 30 countries worldwide.
